METTA PRAYER and Loving-Kindness Meditation

Meta is a beautiful Buddhist prayer, especially during current Covid times, where we all are facing some anxiety. When we are looking for hope, prayers and how to deal with uncertain times.   has been extended from the Metta prayer and can us to reduce anxiety and be calm.

May we, our families, friends, co-workers & Everyone be Safe, Healthy, Happy! –

The word Metta is from Pali language and means Good Will or Loving Kindness. The Buddha taught that saying the Metta prayer would lead to better sleep, better relationship and serenity.

Take a few moments to pause, breathe deeply and repeat the Metta prayer.

Repeat the prayer daily for two weeks. What comes to you? Do you notice shifts in your feelings of compassion?


May all beings be safe.
May all beings be healthy.
May all beings be happy.
May all beings live with ease.

May I be safe.
May I be healthy.
May I be happy.
May I live with ease.


Loving Kindness is a Mindfulness Meditation to us : mental calmness, composure, and evenness of temper, especially in a difficult situations.

In Loving-Kindness Meditation, one is guided, through imagery, words or phrases to extend thoughts to others and the self. cultivates feelings of compassion, equanimity and gratitude.

There are many benefits of Loving Kindness Meditation, research shows that this prayer and meditation also can us with:

  • Quieting of emotions
  • Strengthened capacity for empathy
  • lessened pain that Migraine sufferers experience
  • Increased compassion & Biological changes associated with longer life:
    Telomere, which is a biological maker of aging, is lengthened among people who practice Loving-Kindness meditation.
