Sail away from the safe harbor…Explore. Dream. Discover

Don’t we often take the easy way, stay in our comfort zone. Stop and shy away from our dreams?

I have written before on famous quote,“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do”.

The quote often is attributed to Mark Twain, but I came across the same quote with additional lines and based on research see that it’s by Jackson Brown Jr. and he wrote in a book “P.S. I Love You”

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover!

Jackson Brown Jr., P.S. I Love You

I have dreams of traveling and going to college. If I had the opportunity to go to a college perhaps in another country but for what ever reasons gave up and ended up staying home and going to nearby college, I may regret that for the rest of my life.

Obviously there are many other opportunities that come to us but we choose something that is easier or has less risk. Have you have come across any such opportunity in life, that you passed?

If you decided to do nothing and not accept the amazing opportunities that you have received you will most definitely regret it in the future when you cannot receive them again. You should take every possible opportunity and learn to schedule your time to space out for more opportunities.

My point is, don’t try to take things for granted.

When receiving opportunities people tend to think that there will be many to come, and that’s true but you never know when they will stop. This is why we should try to take any good opportunities we can so that they can open up even more opportunities for us!
